Happy Neonatal Nurses Day!

We LOVE Lauren!!! Struthers was re-admitted at about 6 months old to another Denver hospital, and Lauren paid a visit to her little man.

Oh, Al and the Argyle!

Oh, so much love and dedication in this photo! I will never forget the lengths Val went through to help me feel like I was still a mother during those rough first few days. And Kim, a NICU-nurse turned lactation consultant, is probably one of the main reasons why we still have such a healthy little chunk now!

I will never, ever forget the first nurse (and RT) who handed me my baby. It might have been a week after he was born, and I might have been literally taped into a chair (to keep from accidentally extubating), but it is still one of my most precious memories. And these clinicians were willing to do anything to help a desperate mom hold her child.

These two have some kind of bond...I swear Struthers still expects Al to appear when he hears squeaky tennis shoes 🙂

Beautiful day at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with our former NICU night nurses Mandy and Al who came all the way from Denver to have fun with us (it was heir idea!) So blessed for fun adventures for a couple more weeks before we shut ourselves in for cold season.

I don't know who's hands these are, but they are the ones that saved my little one-pounder. THANK YOU!!!

These two special night nurses were both Struthers' "primaries", and on the occassion they were both scheduled on the same nights, there was a bit of scuffling over who "got" Struthers for the night. This photo was taken on one of the last nights before transferring, and Struthers managed to ensure that both of them had to be hands-on one last time:)
