Struthers 2015

  • We have so much to be thankful for...Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours.

  • Mom, I don't really care if there's snow and ice everywhere, all I see is my swing and sunshine. Happy, happy Colorado boy!

  • Humbled and touched by each and every person who took the time to wish me a happy birthday. You all have inspired to make others feel as special as you've made me feel today! Speaking of, look what this little cutie made me today...he didn't escape NICU arts and crafts and this "life sized" card made Mommy smile almost as much as his greeting when I came in from work today!

  • Look who has decided to hold his own bottle!!! Under the always-watchful eye of Einstein, of course!

  • Our little miracle is 9 months old today! Struthers LOVES to talk, sing, chirp and smile! He says "Hey Dad!", eat, hungry, change and "row, row boat!" Pretty much anything except Mommy, mama or anything of the sort. His 14 lbs, 15 oz finally put him on the growth chart at just under 1%! He has tried lots of veggies and loves most of them, but he's not so sure about sweet potatoes. He's also quite fond of flirting, especially with red-heads! with Eli Bremer

  • Throwback Thursday is for catching up on the week, right?

  • Mommy: Struthers you can't have your thumb and the peas. Struthers: Sure I can, Mom-watch this!

  • Wonderful time with my Coca-Cola Scholars family in Denver tonight! Struthers has had so many little groups and connections praying for him from the beginning, and it was amazing to give this piece of his network hugs-thank you Carolyn Norton and Jane Hale Hopkins! Patty and Mark we missed you!!!

  • Beautiful day at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with our former NICU night nurses Mandy and Al who came all the way from Denver to have fun with us (it was heir idea!) So blessed for fun adventures for a couple more weeks before we shut ourselves in for cold season.

  • Surprise...we made it to Georgia! Now it's 2am and we are settling into an Atlanta hotel for the remainder of the night before heading to Leesburg for a quick whirlwind weekend of introducing Struthers to family and friends!

  • Closing out the pool for the year...we didn't make it down here nearly enough this summer but we are looking forward to future years of having a pool practically in our backyard!

  • When your 10-month birthday falls on the same day you get your flu shot. Happy month-day my little miracle!

  • My silly little bunny. Now 133 days old, 8 pounds, 2ounces and loving living at home! Thanks for your continued prayers- we've had a few setbacks but overall really doing quite well!

  • At 8 hours, we were both fighting for our lives. At 8 days, I got to hold you for the first time. At 8 weeks, you were settling into your second NICU. At 8 months, I still can't believe my little miracle. And we're starting to see that little personality that got you through all that! At exactly 13 pounds, you're finally in 3-month clothes. You are extremely talkative, especially with your Daddy and your goose mobile (thanks Lanz). You're still happiest flat on your back and are fighting rolling over or doing anything on your side, but Ms. Lori (OT) can usually get you to work those muscles a bit, so we'll just be patient. You have come so far with hugging, cuddling, eating and bathing, and are actually enjoying all of these now! The warm weather has meant you've been able to get out a bit, and have met some cousins and friends, and even the church nursery staff who will one day get to play with you while Mommy & Daddy actually pay attention in church. Baby Beluga, we love you so much and wouldn't trade a second of this experience with you!

  • Friday feeding fun! Slightly less efficient than the feeding tube, but way more fun (and normal)!

  • Cuddle time on a cozy evening. After 106 days in the NICU and only 4 at home, Struthers has decided home is much better. Good thing, I told him, since the NICU is a one-way street.
