Teehee I gave Mommy lots of surprises when she walked in today. Look carefully...what's new? 1-I kicked the high flow and am rocking low flow at 96% saturation. 2-it's the last little preemie outfit, and it's too small even with Mommy's make-it-into-a-gown snap configuration. 3-I like to cross my feet and it makes Mommy laugh. 4-I'm ALMOST 7 pounds! 5--there's no feeding tube. That doesn't mean anything really just that I thought I should make all the big steps home in one day so I pulled it out myself. Mom just happened to get this photo before they put it back in. That was fun. Now I'm pooped.

Is that Mom walking in the door--it's about time!

Happy one month birthday Struthers!!! 1340 grams (2lbs15oz)

Ok, today's photo is for my nieces Grace and Evelyn. Girls, this is your cousin Struthers who's now the exact same size as your Bitty Babies! Don't worry, I won't make him play with dolls!

Just some perspective on how tiny little Struthers still is...the embroidered 'blanket' that fits over his entire body is actually a little minky lovey and he looks lost in this NICU special miniature bouncy seat. He's doing well, gaining weight, but still has a long way to go.
-
SnuggleBear is irresistible if I do say so myself! I know, I'm biased...but how can you look at this and not believe in God's everyday miracles?!?
-
Caption this photo...go!!!
-
Look who's finally looking like a newborn baby wrapped in that standard hospital blanket and weighing in at a hefty 6 pounds!!! He's come so far from the one-pounder who surprised us all three months early. So proud of my little champ.
-
Ok, Struthers liked that caption game...GO!!!

Hello...Cami's answering service. How may I help you?

Struthers 57 days old.

On his 2 month birthday, Struthers is headed to Colorado Springs to spend his last month of NICU time at "my" Penrose-St-Francis Hospital. So excited he will be closer to home, but sad to leave the only people and place he's ever known...more details later (I'm riding in the ambulance with him)!
-
Struthers, continually demonstrating his social media savvy, is once again running a "caption my photo" contest. Please submit your best suggestions!

Ode to a 1980's McDonalds commercial...quack, quack, waddle, waddle.
-
Oh, no she didn't!
-
You want me to tell her you're busy?
-
You'll never believe who that was on the phone.
-
Ok. I'll pass the message along.
-
My boys :). Who do you suppose was talking more in this photo?
-
My sweet little Struthers-- Happy Due Date to my 3-month old! You, my child, have shown us God's miracles over and over for the past 9 months. I'm so grateful that He chose us to be your parents and that He brought you here in His perfect timing. You were too early at 27 weeks, but you were right on time in God's eyes. You were too small at 1 pound, 12 ounces, but you were perfect in God's eyes. You were too fragile, but perfectly formed in God's eyes. I'm so proud of you, and can't wait to see what God has in store for a very special little boy. Mommy loves you. Daddy loves you. Jesus loves you!

Yes he's growing so fast and filling out, but my chunky monkey is no bigger than a tissue box.

Our little Colorado native can't wait to have his own epic local pass...

Little man was so tuckered out from his move, he slept right through the photo shoot. We are still getting settled in at St. Francis, but I promise to update caring bridge sometime in the next 24 hours. Home for the first time since October is wonderful, but also a bit overwhelming to get moved back in, caught up on house stuff and get into a manageable routine that allows me to be with Struthers as much as I can. Oh, and to take care of myself and recover-I think my body is just now realizing all it's been through.

Indeed.

Happy 3 weeks world!!! I'm doing well and growing fast in my little NICU home. I'm up to 1140 grams (2.8 lbs), opening my eyes more, and I make it known when I'm famished! I love it when Mommy sings to me-that's our special time and I have graduated up a size from the post-it sized diapers.

Look who's 5 pounds!!!

If you know me, you know I'm just a tad bit goal oriented. Here's what that means when someone brings you a post-it pad while you're in the hospital.
